Settlementagreement.co.uk was launched in 2013 by a national journalist.

The site is dedicated to helping employees with settlement agreements – and provides jargon-free guides, practical tools and access to specialist legal advice.

She’s written for the Guardian, the Observer, the Times, the Telegrah, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express, and others. She’s also writes about jobs and career, and occassionally appears on television and radio.

When Joanne was made redundant from a national newspaper way back in 2001, she realised how difficult it can be to understand a settlement agreement (whihc used to be called a compromise agreement) All that jargon! All those long-winded terms and conditions! It’s not easty to sign-off on a legal documents – particularly when you’ve lost your job. Life is stressful enough.

Over the years, Joanne wrote about finances after redundancy for the national press and heard endless stories about people struggling to navigate the process. She made the decision to set up a site, with her own money and time, decicated to offering free guides for employees and helping them access the right legal advice.

Over the last thirteen years, the site has helped thousands of people leearn more about settlement agreements. The site offers free-to-access guides and practical tooks, and it also works with specialist emplotment solicitors to help everyone get the right advice just when they need it.
